A square of folk embroidery, hung with four chain tassels — the kind of earring that earns a second look.
Statement drop earrings built around a square of hand-embroidered cotton-linen in the multicolor pattern of southern China's festival dress. Four fine chain tassels hang from the corners in a silver tone, so the whole piece moves as you turn your head.
The story
These are taken from the costume language of Yunnan's Miao and Yi villages — the embroidered squares that would have been appliqued onto a festival jacket or a child's hat. We wear them on the ear because the geometry holds up close, and the chain tassel is what tells people it's jewelry and not a button.
What makes it special
- Statement drop — sits at the jawline, draws the eye down
- Hand-embroidered cotton-linen medallion, multicolor pattern
- Four silver-tone chain tassels at the corners, easy to swing
- About 50 g the pair — heavy enough to feel, light enough to wear to dinner

How to wear it
The pair that earns a second look. Reads best against a simple black, cream, or denim top — let the embroidery do the talking. Skip the necklace.
Care
Wipe the metal parts with a dry cloth after wearing. The embroidered face is cotton and will mark if soaked — keep it out of rain and perfume.
